I say *first* wedding, because they actually live in Japan, and two weeks after the Charlotte wedding, they had another wedding in Japan. As Sarah put it, “getting married was so nice, we did it twice.”
Sarah grew up in the Charlotte area and went to UNC, where we met. While abroad, she met Daisuke and they kept in touch. That bloomed into a romance when Daisuke biked across Japan to see her when she was in the country again. Perhaps my favorite part of their love story is how Daisuke climbed Mount Fuji to get Sarah’s father’s blessing. Greg (Sarah’s dad) made Daisuke a shirt to commemorate that (check out the pic below).
There was not a dry eye in the house as Sarah’s father moved from a wheelchair to a walker for the last half of the walk down the aisle. Sarah was positively gorgeous in her lace sleeved gown, and the bridal party kept everyone entertained with a pom pom dance during the Riverwood Manor reception. Okay, enough my words, here are my favorite images from the day:
I love that last sparkler exit image. They are so happy and in love and I know everyone had a wonderful time at Riverwood Manor for their wedding.
