Angus Barn Wedding for Matthew & Jessie
The Angus Barn is one of the best wedding venues in North Carolina’s Triangle region. It’s a great location close to the airport and an easy drive from Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. And on top of that, it’s got even better ambiance and food!! It was the perfect reception location for Matthew & Jessie and their amazing wedding crowd.
The day started with getting ready at neighbor hotels in Brier Creek: The Embassy Suites Brier Creek for Jessie and her team and the Brier Creek Hampton Inn for Matthew’s side. From there, everyone made their way to St. Francis of Assisi Church, which is the church Matthew grew up attending.

Birds AND planes flying through the sky behind them? I think that means one, if not both, of these two is a superhero.
There was plenty of laughter to be had in Jessie’s getting ready suite, but I also loved the quiet moments with just her mom when she was ready to put her dress on.
MEANWHILE, John was hanging out with the most enthusiastic and energetic groom’s party we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Apparently this group was having a nonstop karaoke dance fest while they got ready!
And they all cleaned up very nicely, especially our groom Matthew here. I love this window light portrait John made of him in the hotel room!
Jessie and Matthew didn’t want to see one another before the ceremony, but Jessie did elect to have a first look with her attendants (and some of Matthew’s – it was sort of a free for all, everyone loves everybody wedding party, which I adore). LOOK AT THESE REACTIONS Y’ALL. Jessie is positively stunning and has the best hype squad.
Now I said they weren’t gonna see one another, but the almost-weds did have a quiet moment back to back before heading off to the church separately.
So here we are at the ceremony! One of their good friends/Matthew’s groomsmen sang at the wedding and he is so very talented!!! I guess I should have mentioned earlier that these two met through theater and the majority of their wedding party are also theater people/performers. A very talented bunch. Just wait for the dance floor!
After the ceremony, we headed to the Angus Barn wedding pavilion for portraits before dinner and the party. Love this dreamy sunset coming in behind them over the lake. And how perfect that Matthew found a heads-up lucky penny during portrait time!
Finally it was time to head inside for the PARTY!!!
Here’s where things started getting super-charged! Almost the entire crowd was on the dance floor the entire evening, and 360 Elite Entertainment kept the energy up and perfect for this group.
When neckties become headbands, you know things are going well!
But this. This was perhaps my favorite moment of the evening. Jessie’s bridesmen lifted her during What Dreams Are Made Of (if you’re the right generation, you’ll understand!). Then, from across the room, another figure was lifted. Their eyes met. And their friends carried them to one another. TRUE LOVE ON THE DANCE FLOOR.
But everyone’s feet (and arms) get tired at some point, so at the end of the evening, Jessie & Matthew made their exit through a sparkler tunnel.
We loved partying with you two and all your friends and family. Truly some of the most fun people we’ve gotten to spend a wedding day with so please thank and hug them all for us!!! And of course hugs for the two of you!!
