Carolina Country Weddings – Mount Pleasant

Carolina Country Weddings

Nick & Carly’s nerdy glam affair at Carolina Country Weddings

I have been looking forward to this wedding since Carly’s first message which included the words “I adore Bilbo Baggins.” Carolina Country Weddings in Mount Pleasant, NC was the perfect venue for Nick & Carly’s wedding, which featured a Lord of the Rings themed ceremony and a Great Gatsby glamorous reception. It was, quite simply, perfection, so let’s dive right in!!

The Team:
Venue/coordinator: Carolina Country Weddings
Photo: The Kivii (Kivus & Camera)
Video: Scarlette Fox Films
Hair & Makeup: Concept Salon
Bride’s Dress: Allure Couture from Dashing Dames Bridal of High Point
Paper florals: Etsy
Ceremony & Reception florals: The Grassy Knoll of High Point
Officiant: Jac Grimes with Triad Wedding Officiants
Caterer: An Event to Remember
China rentals: Evermore Event Company
DJ: Marcus with Coastal DJ & Video

The images!! First up, the bling – custom rings partnered with Nick’s mjolnir cufflinks. That paper bouquet is made from pages from Lord of the Rings, and dayum those shoes!!

These two put the party in wedding party, with 12 attendants on each side plus a flower woman and ring bearer. There weren’t nearly enough hooks for everyone’s outfits, but we made it work!Mismatched bridesmaids dresses

After hair and makeup, Carly took a little walk to check out the ceremony site, nestled in a clearing in the woods. She also took the opportunity to lounge on the love couch for a few minutes.

And then time for some MOH love and a quick nap before putting on the dress. The dress moment = all the feels. Carolina Country Weddings Carolina Country Weddings

Meanwhile, Nick, with the help of his groomsmen, was hunting down clues on a scavenger hunt devised by Carly. The treasure chest included mongrammed glasses and a bottle of Lagavulin, which was perfect for pre-ceremony toasts. Wedding Day Scavenger Hunt Gift for the groom

Between writing his vows and getting ready, Nick also found some time to lounge on the love couch. Who wore it better? Carolina Country Weddings

Once everyone was dressed, Carly and Nick wanted to hear and feel, but not see, one another. So, their attendants blindfolded them and led them to meet next to a meadow, where they had the opportunity to talk a little, before turning back to back to exchange private vows. Carolina Country Weddings Blind first touch, Carolina Country Weddings Blind first touch, Carolina Country Weddings Carolina Country Weddings

When you’ve got great friends, you can’t pick just one best man or one maid of honor. Two is better than one!!

Okay seriously. Look at these stunners. Carolina Country Weddings

Nick and his best men made their entrance to the stunning ceremony site from a hidden spot behind the arbor, then faced away from the guests until Carly was partway up the aisle. Carolina Country Weddings Glamorous Bridal Look

Maid of Honor Devon wowed everyone with her rapped toast, “Married Moves,” set to Bodak Yellow. She’s got a future 😀

After some parent dances, Carly’s grandfather showed everyone how it’s done. I can’t dance to save my life, but I’ve got another 40 some years to get this good. Carolina Country Weddings, first dance with grandfather

What’s that sound? Oh it’s the dance floor starting and NOT stopping. Head banging, screaming at the top of your lungs, even the sprinkler add up to a great party. Carolina Country Weddings

When groomsmen are ready to fall asleep on the dance floor, it’s time for some sparklers…

… and a goodnight kiss!!

AND WOW! Thank you for letting us be part of your amazing day!!! Y’all rock <3
