As we roll into the last couple months of 2015, I am getting more and more excited for the 2016 weddings we have lined up. Courtney & Mike are getting married in April at their home church, with a reception at the North Carolina Museum of Art. While I know Courtney cannot wait for that day, I also know she had visions of a Pinterest-worthy barn event. So she and Mike threw a great engagement party at a friend’s farm to satisfy that craving. Many of their friends and family braved the rain and drove through fields to come celebrate the couple. Without further ado, here are some of my favorites from their Hillsborough, North Carolina engagement party.

Barn-red is really a great color. And did you see those doors? The rustic feel didn’t stop at the building; there were wildfowers, lace, and burlap too.

Here’s the honored couple.

I love twinkly string lights! Seriously brides, the will make any space feel more stylized. Definitely look into them. The motocross bike above adds a fun feel too.

Courtney’s sister brought her pug to the party. She tried to steal all the attention. (And she was good at it.)

The band was great and had everyone dancing. It also featured Mike on drums, and Courtney’s step-dad on guitar/singing.

And the night ended with some barn dancing.
