Laurel & Z’s intimate Chapel Hill Wedding

It was a busy weekend for Kivus & Camera, starting with Laurel & Z’s Chapel Hill wedding on Friday. Their ceremony was at University United Methodist Church right on Franklin Street, and then everyone headed to The Lantern for dinner. I love a small wedding like this since you really get the chance to spend time with your favorite people, and Laurel & Z made the most of that time.

The afternoon started with beautifully blue skies over the steeple at University United Methodist.

Laurel got ready with her daughter, mom, and sister, with several close friends popping in, while Z got himself done up down the hall.

Both Laurel’s mom and Z’s mom are named Joan, so Joan, meet Joan. 

And then it was time for the ceremony. Laurel and her family made their way around to the front of the Church, while Z entered with his dad as his best man. 

Sophia was an excellent flower girl, distributing individual blooms to guests rather than tossing petals. 

During the sun-kissed ceremony, Z’s daughter gave a reading and there were plenty of smiles to go around (especially Laurel!)

After a receiving line and some family portraits in the Church, the newlyweds and I snuck out for the last few minutes of daylight and the first few minutes of twilight, grabbing portraits just a bit away at McCorkle Place and the Old Well. 

And then it was on to dinner. 

The Lantern had a great menu for dinner for Laurel & Z’s guests, but for a certain someone, the cake was the best part.

The evening wrapped up with toasts, with Z’s father kicking things off.
