Same-Sex Wedding in Chapel Hill

Andrew & Nic’s University Presbyterian Church Intimate Wedding

The last wedding of my epic 12-in-a-row fall was a short and sweet, intimate same-sex wedding ceremony for Andrew & Nic at University Presbyterian Church in Chapel Hill. Even though Saturday was a little cold, and grey clouds hovered over Chapel Hill all day, the rain held off, and these two were married in the courtyard of the church, surrounded by only their immediate families.

No matter how small the ceremony though, marriage is always a big moment and the love these two clearly have for one another filled the courtyard and spilled out into the sky above.

We all met in the parlor about 30 minutes before go-time, where both grooms had gorgeous boutonnieres pinned on (all the florals were from Victoria Park Florist), while Andrew’s mom put blankets out on the seats in the courtyard. Pastor Kate Fiedler confirmed the final touches of the ceremony with with Andrew.

And then we all ventured out for the main event. The couple’s niece Isabella did a fantastic job as flower girl.

Fall was truly upon us, as leaves were floating down from the trees canopying the ceremony site.

I love when a wedding is small enough to get everyone in attendance in one frame. The newlyweds with their families <3

Married men!

After the ceremony, we went into the sanctuary for group portraits in front of the incredible pipe organ.

Finally, with our last few minutes, Andrew & Nic and I went back into the courtyard to get some portraits under the arbor.

Then the whole group headed off to celebrate over dinner!

Congratulations!!!
