I shot a beautiful bridal portrait session in Wilmington recently and had the most wonderful time hanging out with some other photographers and Kristen, our model for the shoot. Bridal sessions are a great way to get some beautiful and unique images in your dress that you may not have time for on the wedding day. Here are some of my favorites from our afternoon:

All of the indoor shots are from The Loft on Front, which is a beautiful event space in downtown Wilmington that would be perfect for rehearsal dinners or small wedding receptions. This space is really amazing and I can’t wait to shoot here again.

Kristen is wearing a gown from Fountaine Bridals which is Wilmington’s oldest bridal shop. I love the beading on the belt, and the dress had one of my favorite features: buttons all down the back (just like Mary Mack) – well, really only from the waist to the hem, because the top was an open V.

Kristen’s hair and makeup, which was flawless, was handled by Carrie at

Springy, cheerful bouquet and fairy princess flower crown created by Eco Chic Blossoms.

We wanted to get some outdoor shots too, but before we got too far down Front Street, I spotted this gorgeous mastiff hanging out with his owner at a bar. Kristen was totally game to have him join her for a few frames and he was a big teddy bear. Look at the size of him!
Okay, is he not the cutest? His name was Bodie and he’s the size of a small horse. Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming – more bridal portraits:

Last but not least, Kristen is a badass crossfitter type, so of course I needed to take a look at the gun show. 

Bridal sessions are so much fun. It’s all about making you comfortable and sending you away with gorgeous images that showcase your personality and your beauty (and don’t you dare think you aren’t beautiful).
