Madie & Andrew’s wedding at American Tobacco Campus
Madie & Andrew got married yesterday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Durham, NC, and then everyone headed over to American Tobacco Campus for the wedding reception at The Boiler Room at The Power Plant. Their names were up in lights, and their friends and family (many in from PA) toasted to their happiness and love, ate banana pudding, danced enthusiastically, and generally made sure the evening was fantastic.
Also helping make the day fantastic was the vendor team:
Officiant: Father Chris VanHaight
Florals: Etsy
The day started at
Aloft in Downtown Durham, right between DPAC and DBAP (two super fun places). From the bridal suite we could look out at the American Tobacco Campus, where the reception would be starting in a few hours.
After the guys showed off their individualized socks, we braved the heat at American Tobacco Campus for some more portraits. It wouldn’t be an American Tobacco wedding without some water features, and I don’t think I’ve ever been more tempted to jump into the water running through the campus.

The Boiler Room is a pretty cool venue. Definitely a great space for those smaller, more intimate American Tobacco weddings. I know how popular Bay 7 is, but I think the Boiler Room has such a cool history. The couple’s “guest book” was a star map of North Carolina that they’ll frame for their wall, and the party favors were donuts from Duck Donuts!!! Thank you so much for those. I *may* have eaten mine the second I got home Saturday night.

Lauren, sister of the bride and Maid of Honor gave a very touching speech that moved several of us to tears, and Andrew’s brother/best man Brett had the room chuckling with stories about high school Andrew. I love that shot of Andrew’s mom looking on at her sons and new daughter 😀

And then, my favorite part of the night (aside from dancing): THE CAKE.

After some tequila shots (it’s hard to judge a shot poured in a wine glass, but those were doubles for sure), we stole the newlyweds out for photos under their wedding marquee.

Back inside for a couple more songs…

And then, sparklers!

Congrats! And I hope you two are having a blast at the beach right now.
