Brick & Mortar Events Wedding for Stacy & Dax
Dax & Stacy’s wedding at Brick and Mortar Events in Clayton, NC was green and gold and full of emotion AND dancing. In a word, delightful. This was my first time at downtown Clayton’s Brick & Mortar Events venue but I definitely hope it won’t be my last. It’s got exposed brick, both twinkly AND market lights, and an upper level that looks down over the main floor. It was the perfect fit for Stacy & Dax’s gold/green geode inspired wedding.

There was a lot of writing going on this wedding morning. Toasts, vows, letters. Everyone had lovely things to say to one another!
Stacy had custom removable sleeves added to her dress for the ceremony, so double sided tape was a must
Meanwhile, it always seems like the guys (who usually have to get ready in tiny, dark rooms) are ready in the blink of an eye, but then need to figure out bowties, or boutonnieres, or, in this case, pocket squares.
Stacy was a combo of laughter AND tears at her first look with Dax
And then they were both laughing over a minor gift snafu when Dax got the tie pin meant for Stacy’s grandfather instead of the one meant for him.
But then all the emotion and tears as they read one another’s letters.
Stacy got Dax a nice bottle of bourbon as a wedding gift, so of course they shared a drink before the ceremony.
And then more gifts and letters. Stacy was just as emotional reading her letter from her mom as from Dax. Moments like these are treasured forever.
And then it was time for the ceremony! Lit mostly by those lovely candles you see lining the aisle.
A kiss, and they’re wed!!!

Everyone gets ready for the party in their own way – Dax rocked a fallen bouquet flower to match his tie…
…and Stacy changed into sparkly platform sneakers to dance the night away comfortably.

I loved these signs they had on the back of their sweetheart table chairs. These are their nicknames for one another.
Stacy’s sister / Matron of Honor gave the most beautiful speech that had them both overwhelmed with emotion.
And then grandparents were the wedding witnesses! I loved finding this quiet moment in the chaos of the rest of the reception.
Because Stacy is absolutely the type of bride to start the dance floor and then barely leave!!
Here we’ve got Stacy’s mom joining the party because “Stacy’s mom has got it going on!”
Snuck out to the back courtyard for some nighttime portraits but also snagged these two which I feel like capture each personality well!

… a golf-cart retreat! With Stacy pointing out the bar where they wanted their friends to go for the after-party!
