Love is fun & colorful.
Your wedding photos should be too.
It’s still January y’all so I’m rolling this out in time, but there’s a reason it took most of the month for me to get this done: 2018 was our busiest year yet. We worked with dozens of couples and this is just a smattering of the images we sent out. 2018 was awesome(!), at least from a photography perspective 😀
We started in chilly February with Claire & Greg’s engagement session in downtown Raleigh.
When April rolled around, we had a couple more engagement sessions: Laura & Andy in downtown Durham and Jennifer & Wade in Raleigh – and then our first wedding of the season – Dale & Jake’s at The Meadows at Firefly Farm.
May was three weddings in three different cities: Susan & Josh in Durham/Hillsborough (first their LARP in Durham, then their brewery ceremony at Mystery Brewing), Helen & Daniel in South Carolina, and Allie & Paul at All Saints Chapel in Raleigh.
June was back to back weddings with one of our favorite planners, Aneesa from Harmony Weddings & Events. Those were Lauren & Kevin at Market Hall and Madie & Andrew at the Boiler Room at American Tobacco Campus.
Bailey & Patrick (who get married in May!) were brave enough to face the July heat for their engagement session. Later that month, we headed to Asheville for Alicia & Jon’s mountain wedding and next day portrait session at Looking Glass Falls. The month ended with another Bailey, who designed her own wedding dress, and married Paul on the last day of the month.
Fall wedding season started early, because we had three August weddings. Before those though, I headed to Greenville for CJ & Alex’s engagement session at ECU’s campus, and John & I ran around downtown Durham with Haley & Bryan for their elopement portraits. Then we had a double header with Kaleigh & Nick’s Marbles Museum Wedding followed the next day by Sarah & Monty’s Stockroom wedding. Rounding out August, I celebrated my birthday with Shu & James at their Barn at Woodlake Meadows wedding.
Labor Day weekend was another double header: Haley & Clark at the Durham Armory and Courtney & Chris at The Bridge Club in Raleigh. Then I had two engagement sessions: James & Iona’s (which included the proposal itself) and Rita & Laura’s, both in Durham.
SO MANY PHOTOS!! And we’re only just now in October – the mother of all wedding months. Our October weddings were Tara & Dwayne at Shady Wagon Farm, Tara & Mike at the Wake County Courthouse, Carly & Nick at Carolina Country Weddings, Sarah & Josh at Chapel Hill Carriage House, and Baylee & James at the Crest Center in Asheville. In between all those weddings, I also shot Caitlin & Juan’s engagement session and Holly & Jonathan’s NC State Fair photo session.
Homestretch: November & December! The chilly months started out with Stephanie & Roscoe’s Chapel Hill engagement session and Claire & Greg’s All Saints Chapel Wedding. Then I had Laura & Charlie’s engagement session (kitties), Sara & Stephen’s Highgrove Estate wedding, and Heidi & Keith’s downtown Durham engagement session. November ended with our last double header: Emily & Matthew at 214 Martin and Laura & Andy at The Rickhouse.
And, at last, December. Just two weddings and one engagement session. First up were Samantha & Anthony with a JC Raulston Arboretum engagement session. Then at the very end of the year, we had Samantha & Kellan’s Duke Chapel slash Cotton Room wedding and Chelsea & Brad’s Merrimon-Wynne wedding (which rung in 2019!)
Thank you so much to each amazing couple featured here! 2018 was amazing and that’s all because of you.
