NC State Fair Engagement Photos

NC State Fair Engagement Photos

Holly & Jonathan’s NC State Fair Engagement Session

Holly saw the NC State Fair photos we did with Sarah & Josh last year (btw those two get married in 2 days!!!!!), and when she and Jonathan were wandering the fairgrounds this past weekend she decided she wanted some midway engagement photos as well and reached out to me. Y’all. The fair is a photo playground for me. I honestly lose track of time getting distracted by the colors and the motion and it’s my happy place. Keep hiring me for NC State Fair photo sessions!!!!

Anyway, Holly & Jonathan are so sweet and made great pals for me and Jess (amazing photographer in her own right, but lighting assistant extraordinaire last night) as we chased light and food and prizes. Isn’t Holly’s dress the greatest? It’s thrifted vintage which is perfectly suited to her, because she and Jonathan run an eBay store amazingly named Midlife Prices. Check them out 😀

Now, more photos, starting with some garden goodness and American Gothic, 21st Century State Fair Edition.

When she was little, Holly’s grandfather had a tractor much like this one for his tobacco farm, so she had to embrace her farmer heritage for a couple shots. NC State Fair Engagement Photos

And of course, the NC State Fair Flyer. I’m not big on scary rides/adrenaline, but this is worth it every time. That said, if you asked me to ride that tower drop ride on the right, I would respond with all the nope gifs. NC State Fair Engagement Photos

What makes this next pair of images even better is that Jonathan avoids sugar. Cotton Candy is sugar. Like, that’s it. But he let Holly feed him sugar for the photo op. #worthit NC State Fair Engagement Photos

A couple of games were necessary. NC State Fair Engagement Photos

And then we played with shutter drag with the Midway lights. NC State Fair Engagement Photos

Back in the garden under the market lights for a goodnight. Thanks y’all!!

And seriously everyone else: if you want to take pictures at the fair – engagement pictures, wedding pictures, family pictures, whatever – HIT ME UP.Â
