Angel & Jeff’s NCMA Wedding Party!!!

First things first, sweetest couple ever!!! Angel & Jeff got married last year in an intimate ceremony but planned an amazing NCMA wedding reception to celebrate with their favorite people this year. It was a gorgeous day at the museum of art and so relaxed. Since there was no ceremony dictating a timeline, we started with portraits around the NCMA grounds, and followed that up with some in the galleries themselves. When the rest of their friends & family arrived, everyone ate, drank, and was merry! After dinner, Angel made everyone cry with her toast, but then Randy got people dancing, and we all discovered Jeff has got quite the Wobble.

When this is literally the 5th frame I make, I know I’ve got a couple who is going to be a blast to work with.

After the fields and Gyre (those well-known rings of earth and concrete sculpted by Thomas Sayre), we headed over to the reflecting pool and, appropriately enough, got some reflections.

Next, we headed inside for some AC and some of the gallery art. This photograph of Angel features “Blue Panel” by Ellsworth Kelly.

Here, Angel & Jeff are in front of “Bride” by Beth Lipman. (so fitting!!)

This one is one of my favorites, “Raqqa II” by Frank Philip Stella.

Over in the reception space, Watered Garden Florist had made some art of their own, with lovely colorful floral arrangements.

After Angel & Jeff welcomed their guests and everyone sat down to dinner, we snuck back outside to grab a bit of sunset light.

Jeff & Angel’s parents gave lovely toasts, but the bride & groom themselves both spoke too and I found myself tearing up!!

And then some party time!!

When you finally get to celebrate your wedding with all your friends!!

To end the evening, we went out to the mirrored entry way and did a little lighting magic.

And then excuse me while I get all dramatic, but these two are AMAZING!! Being part of this NCMA wedding celebration was so wonderful and I’m so grateful that you two found me!!
