October wedding at Melrose, a historic Raleigh venue

What do you get when you add the first glances of fall with a historic Raleigh venue? A stunning October wedding like Amanda & Chris had!

You may remember these two from their awesome skating rink engagement photos, but they met while they were both working for the Hurricanes hockey team. And then a hurricane tried to crash their wedding, but we won’t dwell on that, since Saturday’s weather wound up overcast but enjoyable. Chris’ blue suit with oxblood details and Amanda’s long sleeved wedding gown were the perfect match for the day.

And here’s the proof:

Amanda got ready at the couple’s home in downtown Raleigh, and her pup Bailey (who of course loves Chris too) got ready with the rest of the crew.

Chris & co were getting ready at the new AC Hotel on Glenwood South, so John hung out with them there.

Time for Amanda to get dressed and head to the venue. Of course, Bailey had to be right by Amanda’s side as often as possible!

Some wedding party drama for ya. I loved the mix of the three different dress colors tie-ing into the suits. See what I did there?

Upstairs, Color Fields Farm and Steph from Southern Oak Events had the space looking gorgeous for the ceremony.

Amanda was all giggles (I think in an effort to keep from crying) as she made her way down the aisle. I loved how she hid her face for a moment or two and her dad’s reaction to that was positively adorable.

Those gorgeous ceremony florals got repurposed to this perfect sweetheart table setup.

We snuck outside for some portraits before the daylight was gone. We didn’t have any real sunset, but heavy clouds can make for some great portraits too.

Time for toasts & cake & a PARTY!

And with a sparkler exit, these two headed across the street to the Longleaf Hotel to keep their party going.
