Love is fun & colorful.
Your wedding photos should be too.
You may remember these two from the pure model looks they gave me at their engagement session at the Art Museum. Well it was time for their official wedding day just a couple weeks ago at Brier Creek Country Club and they were just as beautiful and in love as ever.
Send some love to their vendors shouted out at the end of the blog post, but first the story (through images) of Lauryn & Elliott’s wedding day at Mt. Level Missionary Baptist Church and Brier Creek Country Club.
The day started with Lauryn and her mom and bridesmaids getting ready at an AirBNB around the corner from the church. Lauryn’s grandmother was not there in person, having recently passed away, but she was definitely an important presence.
Elliott arrived at the Church first, where he got ready with his dad (who was also his Best Man) and his groomsmen.
It was windy all day long, but here you can see Lauryn’s side arriving at the Church as the wind was reaching crazy strengths. Through some sort of storm blessing, or the sheer power of hairspray, all of their hair-dos held up beautifully though!
Though Lauryn & Elliott didn’t see one another until the ceremony, Lauryn did have a first look with her dad and he was so sweetly overcome with love for her.
The last little moments before the ceremony always come before you know it. Lauryn & Elliott read letters from one another and took some time to pray before heading to the sanctuary.
And then it was time!
While Lauryn, Elliott, & I were braving the wind with their wedding party out on the cart paths, John was inside Brier Creek’s ballroom grabbing photos of these amazingly nerdy wedding details. Every table had a different theme with a Funko Pop display. I’m featuring Ahsoka and a Toy Story alien because I love them so, but there were superheroes, Harry Potter characters, Spongebob, Scooby Doo, professional sports mascots, and more. And we can’t forget Mickey & Minnie atop the cake. True Love!
This entrance was truly one of the happiest and most joyful I’ve ever seen. Both the couple and their guests were simply radiating positivity and it was impossible to not have a good time after that.
After some emotional toasts (laughter & tears = the best way to do it), everyone hit the dance floor!
Before heading out for their sparkler exit, Lauryn & Elliott shared one last dance together and it was the sweetest, quietest moment of the day. Their connection is something else y’all!
And the photo I’ll leave you with is from earlier at Blue Hour. Gotta love a dress with some twirl and the deep blue skies of just after sunset!
