It was a double header wedding weekend, so that means I’ve got two days in a row of fresh blog posts for ya! Today’s is a recap of Tisza & Kyle’s Sunday evening wedding overlooking downtown Raleigh at Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing.
You may remember these two from their awesome nighttime engagement session just about a month ago. I got to make some magic with them again Sunday at Wye Hill, which is an awesome restaurant that has a patio overlooking the Raleigh skyline from the top of Boylan Bridge. Tisza & Kyle had the patio to themselves (and their friends & family) the whole evening and the views to go with it.
Their awesome Wye Hill wedding team:
Dog of Distinction: Falcor
Venue & catering: Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing
Hair & makeup: The Bardot and White Roses & Lashes
Tisza’s dress: Maggie Sottero by Rebecca Ingram, purchased from New York Bride & Groom of Raleigh
Officiant: friend of the couple
Music: Tisza’s amazing playlist, featuring a song that I had forgotten existed, but I still managed to sing along with entirely
And now, some photos!
Tisza & Kyle arrived dressed and carrying their senior pup Falcor. Falcor got dressed too. Didn’t he look dapper?
Before the ceremony, which we were timing around sunset lighting, we made some time for portraits of the almost-weds. Isn’t that feather bouquet STUNNING?!?!
It was a bit overcast, but we can always make clouds look awesome!
More purple & feathers decorating the tables at the Wye Hill patio.
Their guests enjoyed the view and the cityscape made an awesome backdrop for some of their ceremony photos!
The sunset bouncing off the building windows was golden perfection, but honestly, Tisza’s golden princess vibes were even better.
Um…. Helloooo magazine worthy couple.
Not terribly long after the end of their ceremony, the moon appeared…
… so I obviously made them dance in the moonlight.
And here’s a bit of the reception fun: growlers full of water to stave off any dehydration from the Wye Hill cocktail menu, glowy rings for everyone, and a DIY polaroid photobooth.
Kyle & Tisza’s moms kicked off the dancing and both of them were on the floor for a lot of the night (well done ladies!!!)
This is almost all of Kyle’s band. We’ll have to photoshop in the missing (in a really bad photoshop job though, maybe have them sitting in Kyle’s hands?)
Falcor made it onto the dance floor!!!
Awesome view for a dance floor right?!
Always save the last dance for your new spouse!!
And make sure you make it a super fun last dance: turn around bright eyes, EVERY NOW AND THEN I FALL APART. And these two spun each other on every “turn around”. Quite frankly, I’m impressed they managed to make it to the end without getting too dizzy to stay upright.
And that’s a wrap on this fun wedding!!
I love our downtown Raleigh weddings. And not just because it’s a VERY, VERY short commute for me, but that’s definitely a perk.
