Y’all. Katie & Jack’s wedding was our last one of the spring season and they sent us into summer with some heat. Everything from getting ready to the bubble exit was at the Hope Valley Country Club, where the bride’s dads are members, and it was the perfect setting. We had a few summer afternoon raindrops, but really just enough to provide a pretty blue-grey cloud cover, and those clouds were certainly welcome.
Later on though, there was a more impressive “rain” storm. It started raining men at the beginning of the dance party part of the reception, when Katie’s dads (and some of their friends) had a choreographed cheer/dance routine for her and their brand new in-laws. They brought the house down and I positively cannot wait to see what the Oak City Films team got for video. In the meantime, I’ve included at least a dozen images from the performance in this blog post because I couldn’t stop picking them.
Before I get ahead of myself though, let’s give some love to…

And now….
While she was getting her hair & makeup done, Katie told us all about her Kleinfeld’s experience. If you didn’t know already, that’s the dress shop in NYC where the show Say Yes to The Dress started. Katie & her entourage were not on the show, but she says it’s still very much an experience to remember.
Jack & his groomsmen spent the morning before our arrival playing a round at the HVCC course, and then they went out and putted some more once they were all ready. What else are you going to do when the groom is a pro golfer?
If you read my wedding write-ups regularly, you know how much I love when brides do a first look with their dad. Well, Katie has two dads, so this first look is double the emotion and ALL THE FEELS. James & Ken’s reactions were priceless.
Just about ready to walk down the aisle I’d say!
Katie & Jack’s ceremony was in the Club Room at HVCC and the ambiance was lovely. The lighting was dimmed so the candles and the string lights hung from the rafters could glow, and it gave everything such a warm and romantic vibe.
When you get married on a summer Saturday at a country club, you’re going to have at least a couple photobombs. I couldn’t resist continuing to snap as these kids raced to the pool.
Let’s head on to the reception, which started with dinner and toasts…
…followed by the newlyweds’ first dance and a dance with all their parents (and siblings).
And now ladies & gentlemen, the surprise that Katie’s dads planned for everyone at the party. Costumes, props, even a cartwheel and an umbrella. I’ve never seen anything quite like this performance and I’m so glad I got to be there.
The energy from the surprise performance got the dance floor off to a fantastic start and Jack & Katie and their friends just kept the party right on going.
I love a good bubble send-off! Congrats Katie & Jack! Thank you so much for having us and I hope you’re having a blast on your honeymoon 😀
